In 1956, our first insurance contract was signed! This was also, coincidentally, the day the first accident report was filled out.

Since then, we've seen busier moments! Today the total number of claims is approximately 200 a day!

My insurance policy has to be renewed next month so I called Kanetix for some quotes to see if I could get a cheaper rate before I find out what rate my current insurance provider is going to give me upon renewal. I am currently with Aviva Insurance. First of all. I called customer service and the representative at Kanetix acted as if she wanted to rush me off the phone. In her words she said "Well it sounds like you don't have all of your information." This made absolutely no sense. First of all she is not sitting in front of me. Insurance quotes are typically a estimate and may fluctuate a few dollars once the insurance company gets your exact information. I may not know the EXACT month and year of when I got my G1 (which was almost 10 years ago) but It is a close enough estimate. But everything could still be processed. She was acting as if I should go down to the ministry to find out the exact month and year of this information!!! Anyhow, not only did the Kanetix representative seem in a rush to get me off the phone but she gave incorrect information to the insurance broker when she forwarded my profile. I don't know if she did this intentionally or if she is just simply incompetent. My last problem is with the Belair Direct Insurance Broker. He was unable to process my auto and tenant insurance and I still have NO IDEA why. He kept saying he needs to send me a paper application. He said it won't probably get processed in time for my renewal which is NEXT MONTH. I asked him why and he could not explain and he doesn't know why. Pretty much in a NUT SHELL he made absolutely no sense. He wouldn't give me a straight answer and it was extremely frustrating. I am a rational thinking adult and it beyond frustrating when someone if not being upfront and blatantly lying to you and trying to discourage you from getting insurance with them. I am appalled at Kanetix and Belair Direct. They are rude and unprofessional. I will be sticking with Aviva. I rather pay more for good service and clarity!!!!! I constantly have people asking me to refer them to insurance companies and brokers and I will definitely be telling them to stay FAR away from these companies!!!! • • • My insurance policy has to be renewed next month so I called Kanetix for some quotes to see if I could get a cheaper rate before I find out what rate my current insurance provider is going to give me upon renewal. Belaire Direct is a dishonest company! They had contacted me to inquire if i wanted to reinstate my policy. I had made it clear that no, I did not want their services anymore. They go ahead anyway and reinstate the policy, AFTER I had said I did not need their services anymore! Now I am in a back and forth argument, and the only thing to come out of it is that I still owe one month's payment. VERY useless and zero customer support. Would NEVER recommend this company to anyone! STAY AWAY!!!! • • • Belaire Direct is a dishonest company! They had contacted me to inquire if i wanted to reinstate my policy. Run fast, run far. Cheap insurance until you have to deal with them and get money from them. The do not believe in follow ups, no urgency and low balling. I was left without a car for days with no progress. Had to do everything on my own. Ridiculous. Won't be getting any of my business anymore.

We were first with StateFarm - they were ripping us off. Then, the 'better' insurance had us pay $449 a month for two vehicles and planned a yearly increase to $469 a month when we discovered BelairDirect. They offered us a coverage for $303 that was even better coverage than what we had with the previous one! That is $166 a month less, or $1,992 in yearly savings! It's a LOT for a young family! When I was in an accident, they covered the car (it was totalled) with much better price than we had even expected. Their customer service is wonderful, whatever you need they will address, unlike StateFarm agents who were avoiding contact with their clients. I really hope this company grows and keeps excelling, so that they can offer even more competitive prices and be a leader one day. With such way of doing business it is definitely not impossible. • • • We were first with StateFarm - they were ripping us off. Terrible customer service. My friends son and my daughter have been stuck in Edmonton since early January because Belaire won't deal with the car claim (it was stolen and found with extensive damage) They constantly use voicemail and avoid direct contact. is this their way of not dealing with claims??? It has cost the families hundreds, even thousands to support these kids out there while Belairdirect does absolutely nothing but give them a rental care which they are not allowed to drive back to Ontario. They might be cheap, but you get what you pay for.....NOTHING! I would NEVER NEVER NEVER recommend this company to anyone for anything! • • • Terrible customer service. I have been using Belair Direct for over 5 years with auto insurance. When I set up my home insurance with them they made a massive error and gave me tenants insurance instead of home insurance (yet I am the house owner). I needed to make a claim as I had water damage in my basement and at this point everything became a NIGHTMARE dealing with them. Finally when they agreed they made the tenants insurance mistake (they first blamed me for this?!?) they would only pay for half the damage to the basement. The next 3 weeks we went back and forth trying to figure out who should pay and how much. This was very stressful since I was preparing to take them to court and they finally buckled when I threatened that. They changed their tune and agreed that they should pay 100% of the damages. I thought it was a victory for me because I wasn't getting bullied anymore. The basement got fixed and they paid for it. Well, I received my policy documents from them as they had adjusted them shortly after the claim (3 months into an annual term) and they changed my annual rate to 3x the amount. So now I pay $350 a month in home insurance to these blood suckers. In the end they must have known that I would be paying for the basement repairs by increasing my premiums which is why they had agreed to pay for 100% of the repair. Thanks Belair Direct for ripping me off. You were a great company prior to becoming my home insurance provider. Please keep clear of this company if you don't want to be bullied or scammed by Belair Direct. • • • I have been using Belair Direct for over 5 years with auto insurance. belairdirect was my first car insurance company and offered great rates and friendly service. I remember them being at least about $300 lower than other insurers at that point in time. I also liked how easy it was to get a quote going online. I also like that that you can get a discount for driving safe in the winter if you have winter tires.

I have been using Belairdirect auto insurance and home insurance for over 4 years and trust me being with belair is just not peace of mind it's peace of heart too because I know whenever I call their customer service line they would treat me as a family. The staff is so friendly and funny sometimes which makes me like belair even more. Over a year ago my car was vandalized while I was visiting backhome ( Pakistan ) and I had to call belair from there and the staff handled my claim so nicely and seriously I didn't feel like I was 20000 miles away. The insurance rates super cheap compare to any other insurance companies. You should definitely get belair insurance or switch it to. It's totally worth it. Good Luck Belair • • • I have been using Belairdirect auto insurance and home insurance for over 4 years and trust me being with belair is just not peace of mind it's peace of heart too because I know whenever I call their customer service line they would treat me as a family. Had BAD years ago and it was HORRIBLE. Worst insurance I've had to this day after owning 15 cars.

I have been with Belair for almost 8 years ( as long as Ive had my own vehicle). The customer service is amazing! Their claims officers (as well as turn around time, getting me a rental overall experience) were fantastic and professional as well. Their rates are great as well. My only "complaints" would be that they will not insure a vehicle that is over 19 years old. I know, most people wouldn't care about that but I do. Also, though I'm not sure if this is company or industry wide, my husbands past affects my insurability. • • • I have been with Belair for almost 8 years ( as long as Ive had my own vehicle). the worst Canadian insurance service ever. i got my home+car insurance from them. after 4 months i discovered i have no home insurance. calling them they said it was your responsibility to confirm you have insurance! secondly they supposed to send auto merit, but sent to another person in my name and screwed the price. thirdly they make unplanned charges to my account ( they only accept pre-authorised payment) without notice. never recommend this. you are looking for trouble? go for them. • • • the worst Canadian insurance service ever. i got my home+car insurance from them. after 4 months i discovered i have no home insurance. calling them they said it was your responsibility to confirm you have insurance! secondly they supposed to send auto merit, but sent to another person in my name and screwed the price. thirdly they make unplanned charges to my account ( they only accept pre-authorised payment) without notice. never recommend this. you are looking for trouble? go for them. • • •

Utter waste of time. Called for vacation insurance quote, but apparently no one has any idea what they're doing. If you merge with another insurance broker, maybe yank the absorbed company's site and say you're no longer selling such products, or you no longer service NS, etc. How many morons was I transferred between? 3. Not one had any idea what they were doing.

Worst insurance company ever... may be cheaper but it's not worth it when you really need it. TRUST ME! TD insurance, CAA insurance or Intact are decent priced and beautiful when it comes to customer service and lowering your rates over time. Belair Direct has 5 different departments and none of them know anything about the other, they just send you in circles. If I were to tell you the full extent of my last experience with Belair Direct you'd think I was lying. So trust me. Stay away!!! Stay far away! • • • Worst insurance company ever... may be cheaper but it's not worth it when you really need it. TRUST ME! This company is the epitome of an unmitigated disaster. Every individual on the phone would give a slightly different quote and although it may seem that the quote is cheaper, it is not worth it. You would first have to request a form that you have to fill out and mail back. This process is suppose to take about 17 days according to the customer service representative, it took my application 45 days. This I thought was unacceptable, I was not able to drive my car until I had my insurance and this company had the audacity to send back my application because of errors. The only error that I had was I forgot to write my postal code, not even a call back, mail back for me to wait 45 days.. Unacceptable. Of course I was not patient enough to wait that much, so I decided to go to Co-operator, who did the application in 1 day and the next day I was able to drive. Avoid this company at all cost, they are way behind in time and have not adapted to modern technology. Resulting in slow, unorganized and dysfunctional services. The 17 days they claim is to check over your history and past but any other company will do it in less than a day. Trust me. • • • This company is the epitome of an unmitigated disaster. I was with this company for 10 yrs. When my car broke down and had to stop the insurance thier true colours came out. Stay away from this company they'll try to suck money off you and destroy your record as much as they can. Worst company EVER! I'm so upset for the ten years I kept you for!

Worst company I have ever had the displeasure of attempting to use. Take minimum processing time of 17 business days although they sometimes take months to accomplish nothing. Least helpful staff in the history of anything. Could be politicians all they do is avoid answering your questions and drag their feet when it comes to accomplishing anything. Absolutely terrible service would never recommend it to anyone. Dont waste your time sending an application unless you can wait several months or longer to get insurance. • • • Worst company I have ever had the displeasure of attempting to use. If you want to pay ridiculously high premiums each month for very poor services, belair is for you. Been with this company for 2 years now or so and on average paid between 300- 390$ a month, and for that much you expect some good service right? Nope, when my first car was written off they made me go to toronto to pick up my cheque.. second write off and a month later im still waiting for my cheque, on top of that I had a bus hit me and call in because an adjuster was suppose to get back to me, they havent even bothered to find the other insurance company to intiate the claim process so i can get a rental. DO NOT GO WITH BELAIR, pay the extra for a different company that actually deals with you one one one. With belair your claims go through a 100 people before anything happens. • • • If you want to pay ridiculously high premiums each month for very poor services, belair is for you. I have had bel air provide me with I guess half decent rates for multiple years now with no accident. Recently I was in an accident and when it counts bel air is nowhere to be found!! They were informed of the accident the following morning, gave me there word that they would pick up my truck from the tow truck yard and take it to theirs! I received no instruction on Anything to do! Was told I would be contacted again and never was, I have spent hours of my own time trying to track down my rep! She hasn't called me or answered me once in 3 weeks. I've spoken to about 10 different people who all seem like they have no idea what they are talking about and are very unclear about everything they say! Anyways my truck is still a mystery it's been 3 weeks and haven't even had an appraisel yet! I had no rental coverage I'm lucky my parents had an extra car! I need to know what's going on so i can make time out of my busy schedule to test drive a new truck but haven't been called once from bel air yet! I've down all the calling. Lastly I've emailed reciepts because everything on my truck was aftermarket and they do not send any confirmation calls or emails! Poorly run organization full of false promises though • • • I have had bel air provide me with I guess half decent rates for multiple years now with no accident. Horrible. I'm a driver with no prior accidents, no parking tickets, I put snow tires on my vehicle every year, and I also participated in their Automerit tracking program. After a year with Belair, I was forced to move. My new apartment is 4km away from my previous apartment. My car insurance rates shot up over $700/yr. There was no way to reduce the rate. I shopped around for a new insurance provider and spoke to a Belair rep about what was involved in cancelling. At no point was 'cancellation administrative fee' mentioned. I found a better rate with TD Insurance and called Belair to cancel. You can imagine my surprise when I was charged over $250 in cancellation fees. It seems odd that they can change rates as they see fit, essentially changing the terms of a contract, but when I'm unhappy with this and need to find a better rate, I'm penalized yet again. I guess I would have had to stay with Belair for another year to cancel with no penalty? They also charge an interest rate when you pay monthly. Not all insurance companies do this. What a horrible way to treat a customer. • • • Horrible.
